The Diris A Multifunction Electricity Meters

Look at most electricity meters and eye-catching is one of the last words that would come to mind. This however is not true of the Socomec Diris A range of meters. With an Electric blue backlite display and a large easy to read digital readout the Diris A’s are hard to miss.
However apart from looking cool what goes into these meters? This article take a brief look behind the blue screen at some of the features you can expect when you order one of the Diris A Range.

The Diris Range has been developed by Socomec over the last 10 years to provide a complete system for the monitoring of low and high voltage electrical networks. The Diris A Range consists of three types of meters:

  • The A20, the Standard meter for LV networks.
  • The A40, for control and analysis of LV and HV networks.
  • The A41, control and analysis of networks with harmonic disturbance.

Reasonably priced (£123 for a Diris A20) the meters provide great accuracy and high-speed calculation using Socomec’s ASIC chip (Accuracy index 0.5s – IEC 62053-22) . The readout is easy to interpret and large keys give direct access to the data on the meter. Add to that the ease of installation and you find the Diris A range of meters seem to fit the bill for most applications.

One feature that is particularly neat is the plug in output modules. Not decided whether you need a pulse output or modbus? Just order the relevant plug in module and you can have either, or both! The A20 and A40 can carry up to 4 of these modules and the A41 can have 3. The options are detailed below:

In conclusion the Diris A range provides a great solution to most metering and submetering applications. Taken with the fact it looks great and is easy to use the Diris A Range of meters is a great value metering solution.
